Bridge

What is Bridge?

A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by literally “bridging” the gap. It consists of artificial teeth (called pontics) that are anchored in place by dental crowns or implants on either side of the gap. These anchor teeth, known as abutments, provide stability and support for the bridge, ensuring it remains securely in place. Dental bridges are made from durable materials like porcelain, ceramic, or metal to provide a natural appearance and long-lasting performance.

Dental bridges not only restore the functionality of your teeth—allowing you to chew and speak properly—but also maintain the shape of your face and prevent the remaining teeth from shifting out of position. They are a reliable and cost-effective solution for replacing missing teeth, enhancing both the function and aesthetics of your smile.

What are the benefits?

Dental bridges offer numerous advantages, both functional and cosmetic. They restore the ability to chew and speak effectively, which can be affected by missing teeth. By filling the gap left by lost teeth, bridges also help maintain the natural shape of your face, preventing the sunken appearance that can result from tooth loss. Additionally, they distribute bite forces evenly across your teeth, reducing stress on the surrounding teeth.

From an aesthetic perspective, dental bridges enhance your smile by providing a seamless and natural-looking replacement for missing teeth. They prevent neighboring teeth from shifting out of alignment, which could lead to bite problems and additional oral health issues. With proper care, dental bridges can last many years, offering a reliable and convenient solution for restoring your confidence and oral functionality.
